Weather

Very cold weather today, rainy/snowy. We decided to go walk by the Bosphorus between Kuruçeşme and Bebek. A 4km walk in the windiest part of Istanbul. We were all wet from the rain, it took me a while to get warm again.

Botanic Garden

Ekin wanted to go by some flowers at the city's botanic Garden in Levent. So we did. That was pretty cool and they were pretty cheap. We're not very good at keeping flowers alive so we had to renew our flowerpots.
Very hot weather today, by the way. All week long it had been pretty nice. Today it was around 32 °C (90°F).

Searching Day

Today, our friend Sibel was looking for a new apartment, so we tagged along to help her in her choices. We visited 9 different places. 7 of them were crappy, the floors weren't straight, the walls weren't straight, etc. We usually say that the architect is from the black sea.

Oreo is getting bigger

On the way to the first place, Sibel brought us to this new place called Burger Bar in Istiniye that makes those real American burgers. It's hard to find a good one in here and it's nice to have one once in a while.

I didn't take any pictures of the buildings or apartments we visited, just some views from them.

As an animal lover, I spotted right away this small lizard in the bushes. I use to catch them and study them when I was in the U.S.

Outside Today

Nice weather today. Enjoy this polluted view over Yildiz and Tesvikiye; Taksim is where the big building is, far on the left.

Once again, enjoy the marvelous architectural skills of my fellow Turkish compatriots.

Santral-Istanbul

Work day today, nice day today.

We went to the Sony RoadShow for the technology program I'm working for (Teknosohbet.tv)which took place in the museum part of SantralIstanbul (english). SantralIstanbul used to be a power plant (built during the Ottoman Empire) and supplied the city's energy for a long time. It was then abandoned but recently renovated by Istanbul Bilgi University and transformed into a cultural center. Classes take place there as well.
The Sony RoadShow was a little fair held for the press to show their last products in broadcasting (TV, Cinema) so it was very interesting for me. After shooting the reportage for the program we went around in the plant part. It was pretty nice to see that kind of place.

The building on the left is the Otto Cafe, the big Grey building is the museum and the old building on the right (below) is the plant.

Oreo seems tired today.
