Cameras

I've been trying out many cameras those past few weeks, for the show I host with my friend Burak on Şipşak.tv.

I really need to get my own camera now.

Quick review :

Olympus D-SLR E-30 : Pretty good.
Canon SX 1 IS : Very good but a battery eater. I had to buy four new batteries every 24 hours or so.
Canon Ixus 100 IS (USA : Powershot SD780 IS), pretty good for its size, does everything even 720p video shooting.
Canon Ixus 95 IS (USA : Powershot SD1200 IS): Standard Point&Shoot camera.
Samsung ST50 (USA : TL100): Not tested yet.
Canon SX 200 IS : Pretty strong compact camera with a 12x zoom and manual settings.
Ricoh R10 : minimalist and lots of customizable functions but image quality could have been better.

Why would they have different names fo different countries. It's not like they mean anything !

Kuroshio Sea

The second largest aquarium in the world is in Japan.
The main tank called the "Kuroshio Sea" holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world's second largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish species in the main tank.
By the way, this was shot using a Canon 5D Mark II. I've been wanting this camera for a while now.

Twisting Falling Sliding

I forgot to tell you but the other night it was raining pretty hard and since during the day the weather was pretty nice, all I had was a T-shirt. I decided to run toward the car, but as I came at the corner of the street, I slipped, twisted my right knee a bit and landed on my right side - smashing my photo camera that was in my right pants pocket - and landed on my right elbow. I felt like a footballer sliding in the grass to celebrate scoring a goal. Only, I landed on the pavement. I was soaked. I have a bruise on my elbow and on my hip which is pretty rare for me. The last time I bruised was when I got hit by a car 10 years ago ;)

Here is the camera, still working perfectly by the way :

Canon Ixus 850 IS VS Samsung NV24 HD

Today I got one of the last Samsung point & shoot camera, the NV24 HD from Samsung to try it out for a program. Here are the first photos I took with it. I took the same photos with my canon Ixus 850 IS (aka Canon Elph 800 IS in the USA). The canon is a 28 mm equivalent lens, the Samsung has a 24mm lens.

What do you think ?
