Alanis M. Guest

Masstival festival this week-end and Alanis Morissette is performing tonight. Ekin's good friend Sibel has a good friend from the States : Jason Orme, no less than Alanis' guitarist.
We met before the concert, had some nice meze in Asmali Mescit, near Tunel (Taksim) and then went to the show.

Thanks to Jason we were the only one to have the 'all access' card with the mention 'Alanis M. Guest' on it. We could go anywhere. The other band members were very cool too. Jason is really great guy. The live was really good too.

Herbie Hancock is in Istanbul for the Istanbul Jazz Festival. I could not miss him. It was a really great show but unfortunately Turkey is Turkey (no offense, none taken) and all the road works in the area went on during the beginning of the concert as well as the loud music coming from the (empty) night club (Cahide) next to the open air theater.

Efes Pilsen One Love Festival Day 2

And we're back to the festival.
As soon as we arrived the Turkish band Baba Zula started to play. It was kinfd of cool until.... I got a call from work telling me we had to do another shooting (just like yesterday), So I left Ekin and the others there and went to work only to come back 2 hours later.

I noticed this building, please take a closer look at the windows. They're not symmetrical, another Turkish style building, no offense ;)

When I came back Miss Platnum was playing, It was good too. First time I heard of her.

At night Shantel started Playing. Ekin is a big fan. Shantel is a German (from Romania) DJ mixing gypsy music from the Balkans. He really knows how to entertain the crowd. He has become very famous in Istanbul and comes at least once a month to perform here.

Efes Pilsen One Love Festival Day 1

This week-end, there is the Efes Pilsen One Love Festival. It's a music festival that takes place each year. It use to be at Park Orman in the Maslak Area and the bands used to be big bands (Black Eyed Peas, Morissey, Beastie Boys, Underworld,...), but this year they changed the place (Santral Istanbul or here) and the bands are somehow less known bands.

The new place is really great and this year it really felt like a real festival.

By the way, before going there I had a call from work telling me we had a shooting to do, so I dropped Ekin and the others at the festival, went to work and then came back later on.
