Our Street

This is a building in our street. Even though I pass in front of it almost every day and even though I already posted 2 photos of it in previous posts (here and here)I never realized how ugly it was. I can't belive that such building are allowed in here. Well, I've seen much much worse here, but still (here).

Shit Happens

This week the city is renovating our street by changing the asphalt layer by a paved road. It might look nice at the end but the material used for the pavement is of poor qulity. I mean it's not a material meant for a road. The process used to build the road is so bad that we'll see the first deterioration with the first rains. Anyway, somebody has to earn some money I guess.
While removing the old asphalt the excavator ripped the electric cable.











And so the guy tries to reattach it...

I like how she wrote the price. smaller would habe been good too. The next day the sign had been changed.

CeBit 2

We went to the CeBit fair again today and I got food poisoned after eating a hot dog from Ikea.
Really cool. We went to the fair with Murat and his car. Unfortunately he left his headlights on and the car's battery went dead so I had to push the car.
Anyway I'm home and I'm going to bed.

Visit the Twins

We finally went to visit Gonca's and Serdar's twins : Ali & Zeynep. They're really cool. The sister is amazed by her brother. The brother is a daredevil ;)

CeBit

CeBit Expo this week. Nothing to see, nothing new, the fair is too far away from the city. Why is it still held I don't know.

In our street, while going to work, it was apparently nap time for the cats.

Stormy Day... Again

Remember I told you about the little storm before going to Bodrum. Here is a picture of the front of our house taken right before leaving for Bodrum :

Today another little storm stroke Istanbul. While we were seating on the outside terrace of The House Cafe enjoying our breakfast in Ortaköy, sunbathing, we saw this big black cloud coming toward us. We decided to leave, but I wanted to take a photo o f the Bosphorus first to show you the waves when a big wave stroke and fell on Selcuk. He had to get into a store to buy new clothes.

Bodrum Day 08

Goodbye House.







Last day at the beach. Last swim of the year. Playing with the cats on the beach.









At night we went to Bodrum earlier in order to eat there before riding the bus.
We ate at the Sünger Pizza place near the Bodrum Marina. Very nice place to eat pizzas or bouillabaisse.
Afterward if you want you can have a real Italian ice cream at La Sosta Marina, right next to Sünger restaurant.
