Concert tonight at the Kuruçesme Turkcell Arena by the Bosphorus.

Metallica in Istanbul

Tonight we went to see the heavy metal band Metallica in concert. It's not that we are fans of the band, neither that we're heavy metal fans but we got the tickets for free and we were wondering what a stadium concert would look like. The concert took place at the Galatasaray Stadium (known as the Ali Sami Yen stadium).

It really was impressive. We didn't stay long but the show was great.

Excellent concert from Massive Attack tonight at the Park Orman Resort.

Alanis M. Guest

Masstival festival this week-end and Alanis Morissette is performing tonight. Ekin's good friend Sibel has a good friend from the States : Jason Orme, no less than Alanis' guitarist.
We met before the concert, had some nice meze in Asmali Mescit, near Tunel (Taksim) and then went to the show.









Thanks to Jason we were the only one to have the 'all access' card with the mention 'Alanis M. Guest' on it. We could go anywhere. The other band members were very cool too. Jason is really great guy. The live was really good too.

Kocani Orchestra

Tonight I worked at teknosohbet.tv and afterward I joined Ekin, Serhat and Selda to a nearby bar called Roxy where they have live concerts. Tonight the Kotchanee (Koçani) Orchestra was playing. It was really great. It's a brass band playing music from the Balkans like the one played by tzigans. If you like Emir Kusturica's movies and the music in them (by Goran Bregovitch), you'll like the Koçani Orkestra.
